Cast of Characters/Important People
- Kellen Tavadon: Is the main protagonist and is heir to Lycaelon Tavadon's estate, he discovers the three Books of Wild Magic and is later banished from Armathelieh
- Idalia Tavadon: The main protagonist's sister. Was believed to have died many years before however it becomes evident that in fact she too is a Wild Mage and was subsequently banished from Armathalieh. She is in love with Jermayan an elf she has known since being banished but refuses to admit her feelings to him and herself.
- Jermayan: An elven knight in love with Idalia he pledges to help in anyway possible.
- Shalkan: A unicorn who comes to Kellen's rescue when Kellen performs a wild magic spell to escape the Outlaw Hunt. It is hinted that perhaps Shalkan himself owes tribute to the wild magic and that is the only reason why he appeared to aid Kellen. He tells Kellen he will remain with him as long as Kellen promises he will stay chaste for one years time, Kellen's own price for performing the wild magic.
- Chired Anigrel: Kellen's tutor when he lived in Armathelieh, feels Kellen's father is like his own.
- Lycaelon Tavadon: Kellen and Idalia's father and Arch-Mage of the ruling council of Armathelieh, and Mage of the High Magick
