Tracy Chevallier has woven a story that is dark and compelling. Two post victorian families united by the proximity of their gravesites find their lives intertwined. Didn’t Like It

I was so disappointed with this book! I had kind of expected it to be as wonderful as Girl with a Pearl Earring, but it was anything BUT as wonderful as GwaPE. Maybe Tracy Chevalier's evil twin sister wrote this one?

    True. Maude was the most likable character. The other characters were barely likable at all. I do like the fact it was a story told in different perspectives by each character. However, I thought the story was a strange one. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

    i've just finished reading this book..i like the fact that it's told from different perspectives...i liked Maude..only Maude...i really like Tracy's style of writing...it's intresting...and enjoyable...
