A chance meeting puts a former cop, Spencer Grant (Michael Ackblom), and a mysterious waitress, Ellie, on a collision course with a deadly government agency. Meet Godzilla, Mama, and more. Spencer keeps remembering a horrible experience from his past, but he’s drawn back to it when he can’t remember everything about it. Ellie is running from the governmental agency that assassinated her loved ones.

I love this book, it is one of my favorite Koontz works. The man (I admit I forget his name) and his dog are searching for a woman he met briefly but feels an unusual attraction to. He has decided to save her. They end up saving eachother. The dog is awesome too, as Koontz's dogs always are. My favorite quote from this book is: "Never lie to the dog"

Hard to put down, caused a lot of "long lunches".

Loved the dog, most of all! And the mystery and suspense was killer! Didn't like the fact that one of the bad guys got away, though...

THIS is the first book I ever 'read' by Dean Koontz. I actually listened to it on audio -- unabridged, of course. It was like 7 million tapes, LOL From this point on, I was hooked on Dean Koontz.
