“I don't think this is one of Koont's best. It was a good read, but a little boring.”

The bombs are set to go off at midnight. As they are planning to return to their base camp, a huge tidal wave hits the ice and breaks off a huge portion. Unfortunately the group is still on the side of the bombs and in a storm that makes rescue impossible. The team attempts to defuse a few of the explosives, but the cold and storm blocks them from doing but a few. As they were attempting to neutralize the bombs, one of the members is attacked and almost killed. Who is the assassin in the group? And why? Meanwhile a Russian submarine captain hears the reports of the stranded group and decides to try to save them. Then follows a harrowing rescue and another assassination attempt.

Nothing supernatural or satanic.
Good book, I really liked it.
this is not to say I don't like the traditional Dean Koontz novel.”
“I honestly could not put this book down from start to finish. This book was a bit different than many of Koontz's books in that it had no horror or bizarre characters thats he writes so well. Instead, it was just flat out nonstop suspense from beginning to end. Wow! It was really was incredible .
I love Dean Koontz, but this book surprized me in a good way.I was just blown away.
It is definately worth reading. Give it a try, and if you like this one, read Intensity by Dean Koontz.”
“I am sure reading this book in the dead of a cold winter affected my feelings toward this book. It was cold and I was cold and it felt like we would never warm up! A group of scientists are unable to excape off an iceberg they were studying. Due to BAD weather they are unable to be rescued in the usual way. A submarine in the area breaks its mission silence and enters the rescue as an attempt by the captain to make arrears for not being a his dying son's bedside. Meanwhile, there are 10 bombs set to explode on the iceberg, AND a murderer has made an attempt on one of the stranded party members. What else could go wrong... just lots and lots!!!!”
