I loved the fact that, in this particular thriller the emphasis was not placed on the killer so much as it was placed on the protagonist. I think that the story wasn't so much about the killings so much as it was about Billy's journey through the experience, emphasized by the intriguing conversation he has with the master killer near the end of the book.

I would have to agree with the general statement that the ending was quite short lived though the final scene was sincere in it's showing of simple affections.

I'd agree with the general sentiment that the ending was somewhat disappointing, but this was still a genuinely creepy psychological thriller that digs deep into the human condition.

I think that this is definitely one of his best books. It was very creepy and a few parts fairly freaked me out. The end was a little disappointing, but then again the end of most horror novels are.

This was my first Dean Koontz book, and I'm trying to decide if it's my last. I was creeped out by this book.
