“It was suspenseful and pretty funny. I usually don't read books of this genre, but I'll make an exception for Dean Koontz and read more of his books :)”Cortney~ has an obsession with Final Fantasy VII and Zerith <3 wrote this review Friday, May 27, 2011. “this is one o fmy all time favorate dean koonyz books because it is absoulutly hilarious and creepy at the same time. the character (jimmy tock) and his family all had a sense of saecasm and sense of humor that kept the book and the familys state of mind in place with a crazy clown and his son seeking vengence for events that they clouded with absurd and outrageous details that didnt actually happen. the reason i found the book so mesmarizing was they constant surprises. the most shocking being that out of evrything the beezo and his son exagerated the part about his wifes family being evil beings was true times 100. the book also had a happy ending which is always nice ”samiya wrote this review Tuesday, April 26, 2011. “it is an attractive story, other than the boring if not offensive ideological speeches that Koontz can't resist to include in every few chapters ”redaer wrote this review Friday, March 11, 2011. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“A truly fantastic book - unique storyline, fascinating characters. Again, the weaving of separate character stories into a convergence is excellently done. ”Aimless wrote this review Monday, February 28, 2011. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“A different story, but still a terrific read by Dean Koontz.
In the past I have read many of Dean Koontz's novels and I just decided to revisit this author. I tend to get bored when an author's books are predictable and repetitive.
In "Life Expectancy" the story takes the reader into an unusual situation. A dying man predicts five important days in the life of his grandson who is being born. The old man dies just when his grandson is born. The story was a fun and suspenseful read, though not a spooky read. I enjoyed the characters, the twists and surprises in the story, and the "never say die" attitude of Jimmy and Lorrie. In the final pages, there is an inevitable twist that Koontz does well in hiding until the later stages of the story.
I have gladly recommended this book to others, especially if they're a bit leery of Koontz previous deep spooky type stories.
