A very high-toned, gorgeously written thriller about the mysteries and vagaries of love. If that sounds a bit iffy, don’t worry. McEwan is talented, subtle, and his prose is seemingly effortless. There are some plotting affinities between “Enduring Love” and his more recent and very acclaimed “Saturday,” but the similarities are shallow. Didn’t Like It

I have to admit that I really didn't enjoy this the first time I read it; not my favourite of McEwan's novels. It's difficult to explain exactly why, however. Just a personal opinion, I suppose.
I hope I'll like it much more second time round (then I can change that rating!).
