I was drawn in by McEwain’s vivid descriptions of the English countryside and the World War II battlefields in France. I appreciated this book for its well-developed characters and McEwain’s honest description of the complexities of human nature. The film is equally enjoyable.”

A book about consequences, regret and life alerting decisions. Thirteen-year-old Briony Tallis reads a letter addressed to her elder sister, Cecilia, from their housekeeper's son, Robbie. This causes her to acusse an innocent of a horrible crime that change all of their lives forever.”
