my favorite character out of this book is McGgorvey's.let's not call it favorite maybe the most character got my sympathy and support especially that every character has its history and black sins. The rejection he found from his town people,Larry moon's behavior and his mother's death made me feel sorry for him.

I thought this would be better. It was OK, pretty good even, but not as good as it's critical success would indicate. I just never cared about the sex offender storyline much, and it was half the book. Why was it in there? Adultery wasn't enough? A very quick, easy read with no challenges. Grade: B.

Loved the writing. Sparkling and smart. I don't read fiction very often, but I'm glad I made an exception for this book.

I really enjoyed this book, the characters were real people with flaws that many people can relate to, and i thought the ending suited the story and characters perfectly.

As a work-from-home parent, I saw many elements of myself and my friends in Perrotta's description of parenthood. The story was interesting but didn't end as I expected.

I didn't finish this. I was fascinated by the characters and actually liked them even though they were behaving like idiots. About halfway through the book I was just too disturbed so I chose to drop it and move on.

Absolutely brilliant. From beginning to end, this book drew me in with its fantastically written characters, in depth and well thought-out dialogue, and sheer delicious humanity of the community in which this book takes place. If you love fiction, wit, characters that you miss when the book is over, and a reminder that we as humans are wonderful because we are flawed, you NEED to read this book.
