“This novel was very disappointing. Not a single character triggered a spark of compassion in me. Sarah exasperated me - I wanted to shout to her : "You want to go away ? Then go away ! Do something !" She's not touching, she's desperate but hard. The killer story did not add much, it seems like something just peppered on the rest to spice it up - but there were not enough elements to add some flavour and the ingredients simply did not mix at all ! Little Children is just another novel on conformist, suburban alienation - and there are dozens of books that are a lot better on the subject. It looks like a bad TV show.”
