her descriptions of the characteristics of a University town are good
This story is very touching. I was very moved by the mother-daughter relationship that grew closer and how she began to grow up and realise her own person. There are a lot of very good issues and themes in this book and some very good quotes. I have learnt a lot from this book. This is my all time favourite.
This is one of my favorite books. So touching abd so real.
I'm reading this book right now and am finding it very well written, the characters very real, and yet it's very sad. I'm researching the author, wanting to know more about her background. I'm amazed that she's only written 4 novels. The writing is so good! It's a level above most of the fiction I've read; I feel like I'm learning something new (about human nature) rather than just escaping into another world. The front cover of this book states that "Anna Quindlen's true mission (is) the exploration of changing identity. What in our past and in our backgrounds makes us (the way we are?)" It's very interesting...
Who light was the brightest in the house , her fathers or mothers
and when did Ellen learn this about them? I thought this was a good
point in the book about her parents.
