“This was a devistating book for me. The end of the world is a subject matter that crosses my mind and this story was very real about it. I constantly felt like time was ticking down for all of us in reality and I couldn't let the feeling go when I put the book down.”
“There are some books that take place in another era but the message is timeless. Even with the differences in dialogue and social manners, the themes in some books transcend and are identifiable. On the Beach is NOT one of those books. It may have been captivating when it first came out, but it definitely is not timeless. The dialogue is dated and the characters and their actions are not believable. I would not recommend this book.”
