I thought this book was awesome when I was in 7th grade. I reread it a couple years ago and found it to be less awesome.

This is a very good book. The description of the wizards tutelage is wonderful. The Jungian symbolism for how each of us deal with our dark side is life affirming. I like the importance that this book gives to names.

What a fun read. I caught the SciFi channel movie based on Earthsea and of course the book was so much richer and detailed. Wonderful journey.
