I thought this book was awesome when I was in 7th grade. I reread it a couple years ago and found it to be less awesome.

This is a very good book. The description of the wizards tutelage is wonderful. The Jungian symbolism for how each of us deal with our dark side is life affirming. I like the importance that this book gives to names.

What a fun read. I caught the SciFi channel movie based on Earthsea and of course the book was so much richer and detailed. Wonderful journey.

Although all my friends hated this book, I enjoyed this book very much. I haven't had the time though to exactly read anymove of the serious. Are they any good?

I wasn't exactly young when I first read this, but I liked it so much that I had to buy the next one! I haven't found the 3rd book of this series with the same cover as my first two, so I'll have to keep searching in second-hand bookshops...

One of those books you read because the plot is interesting enough, but when you step back and think about it, it could have been wirtten so as to be more believable. I know it's in the fantasy genre, but sometimes the gifted boy-child doing things that are impossible wears a little thin.
