“Writing as John Sandford, John Camp has shown in this novel of his anti-establishment hero, Joe Kidd, that he has patented the formula for a tight, well-rounded and intelligent script.
These novels, along with the more popular novels of his other hero, Lucas Davenport, are all very easy and quick reads. As they are entertaining as well as suspenseful, these novels are the kind that are difficult to set aside once a reader begins to turn page one.”
“Much more interesting & less predictable than his Prey novels.”

Kidd is an artist and computer programmer (read hacker) who sometimes is open to getting into, what shall we say? A little trouble? A little breaking and entering? A little Robin-hood type thing? He’s a semi-good guy with a semi-good heart who takes matters into his own hands when a friend/hacker buddy gets killed. LuEllen is the female version of Kidd, who accompanies him on this romp. Fun, fast read. Good stuff.”

His main character is a person that just about every upstanding citizen can like...man or woman. A man's man and a woman's man. James Garner could have played this part well, in his younger days. There are violent crimes, but the degree of explicity is contained, and I appreciate that. The fun is in figuring out if he will catch them or not...he doesn't always.”

Sandford is one of the best writers in the business, and he keeps the reader tearing along at a breathless pace, while providing a few good laughs and some steamy mix-'em-ups as well. A friend of Kidd's is killed, and Kidd doesn't believe the official explanation. When he starts to investigate, he discovers that someone is hacking into the National Security Council's computers and Kidd's name is one of those implicated. Good stuff for any thriller fan.”
