One of the most meticulously constructed and nihlistic but accurate views on a generation EVER. Mindblowing.

One of the more entertaining books in my mind. It tells the story of a few rich kids in the late 80's at their rich school in the Northeast. Sex, lies, "rock n roll" are all part of college life, and this books captures some of the American college high life that every student wishes to experience.

Wandering and pointless, but at the same time unputdownable (nice invented word huh!). Never sure why I read Ellis, but I still do.

I am really into Bret Easton Ellis now, and after seeing the movie named after the book i was certain i had to read this. The book is even better than the movie, adding extra scenes that really explained and helped me really see the characters.

I just love Bret's style of writing, he can make you laugh, can shock you and in this story of a love-triangle he takes an unoriginal concept and makes something better. Creates unlikeable characters through out which can be seen as a positive and negative - for me it was a positive. Couldn't understand why Bret saw this as a downer in his career thus far.

Okay, this is not the edition I have but could not find the one i own. The book is good at showing the shallowness of the eighties and how twisted lives can get when people ignore common sense.

Great Movie, so so book. I'm only a third of the way done, so here's hoping it picks up.

You may hate the characters, but you will become engrossed in their lives. Depression, drugs, suicide, school, and the 80's. What more could you ask for?
