Jasper Fforde's 'The Big Over Easy' is a funny, satirical, pun filled, 'whodunnit' spoof about a well-known nursery crime; in this case the murder of Humpty Dumpty.

One example, and not a plot spoiler: In Fforde's topsy-turvy world the three little pigs are the vengeful killers of Mr. Wolff. But a stacked jury of pigs lets the three pigs go free. Where is justice?

In the Big Over Easy Detective Jack Spratt is working with his new partner Mary Mary to investigate the murder of Humpty Dumpty. There were many puns and play on words that either "went over my head" or didn't humor me. I was disappointed with this one and won't be reading anymore in this series.

    I love the light hearted banter between Mary Mary and Jack Spratt. Fforde has paid great attention to detail to the characters and plotlines. I really enjoyed this book ;)
