    Weak, disappointing ending.

OK, I freaking loved this book. It's been recommended to me be by a ton of people with the caveat being, "you will be disappointed by the ending." Perhaps thats why I wasn't so disappointed by the ending. The book is a monster and it had to end some way, without looking through rose-colored glasses. I certainly didn't enjoy the way it ended, but I didn't have a problem with it.

It took me forever to finish this thing, but it was so worth it. Messed up, though. I honestly expected it to end differently. I was happy with the ending, regardless. It's a must read, especially since the book is turning into a mini series on TV. Get reading!

It was probably a great short story. It was a bit drawn out and a fairly predictable Stephen King. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't his greatest.

OK. All of the pop culture references were annoying

Among the more graphic of King's selections but also one of his most memorable and numerous in characters. The book is long but never dry. A huge chunk of it is the exploration of each person and the inner workings of a town brought to its most inhumane when they cannot escape. Jim Rennie is very believable as the corrupt chairman who takes advantage of all.

I really enjoyed this novel. It is epic in it's proportions and cast of characters, it brought to mind my favorite King book, 'The Stand'
