“This book is the second book in the Hunger Games series. Although there are some adult themes, such as violence and death, I would classify this book as an adolescent literature book. This book takes place after Katniss and Peeta have already won the hunger games and follows them through their journey on the 'victor's tour' throughout the districts. Eventually, Katniss and Peeta are sent back in to the hunger games arena for a special 'quarter quell' and this arena is completely different from the first one. This book is more about the start of a revolution than the actual participation in the hunger games. ”

Although Katniss won the hunger games and her district has seen much better conditions since she has, she's felt an unrest that she cannot stop. The way this story folds out is compelling and intense. It's a good read.”

After Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark won the hunger games, the capitol wanted revenge, so they started killing people and also there have been uprisings. Katniss gave the people an opportunity to be free and not to be afraid of the capitol anymore, they just had to take it. There have been uprisings in a lot of districts, but then when Katniss goes hunting again, she finds a mother and a daughter that escaped from their district and they went searching for district 13, that, they hoped, wasn't completely ruined. They discovered that the video that the capitol showed on TV was old, and that they haven't been there for a while, so that's where they came up with a conclusion that maybe there was still district 13, where they were heading. I cannot give anything else out, otherwise, it would be a spoiler. I really enjoyed reading this book, and it's probably for children who are my age, and maybe 6th graders too. So as you can see, I was really hooked by this book and I really enjoyed reading it because every moment of it was exciting and i couldn't put the book down.”

Her stunt in the arena makes things difficult for her and the other victors. She ends up in the arena again with Peet and past victors. I found this book quite dark again, and obviously for an older audience, but a great story. In the classroom, I would consider having this as a literary circle book or simply in my library. I know this is a book series children like and I personally love them as well.”
