Katniss figures out that the arena is a clock- meaning that certain events happens at certain time, certain place. I wasn't very surprised in this part, because Collins kept on mentioning that the arena is a circle, which gave me a hint. Collins is giving a lot of hints to the readers about what might, or might not happen later on in the novel. For instance, she hints that Katniss and Peeta could feel that Finnick and Johanna were watching them for the whole time. So I guessed that they are probably looking for a good time to kill Katniss and Peeta. I really love how she gives the readers some hints, because it makes you to think and imagine what might happen next. It makes the book more interesting, and tempting to read on.
Katniss writes "SENECA CRANE" on a dummy in front of gamemakers. At first, I didn't quite understood what was so shocking, but i figured out that Senceca Crane is the name of last game's head gamemaker, who was punished -by death- because she let 2 tributes to win. Katniss gets 0 point by this performance. The second important event happened in this book is when Cinna make a dress for Katniss that turns her into a mockingjay. This dress was shown in the interview, and everyone knows that mockingjay is a symbol of revolution. Peeta announces that Katniss is pregnant. This totally blew the audiences' mind. Cinna walks with Katniss to the hovercraft, before she enters the game. Suddenly, a door shuts between them and Cinna gets beaten by peacekeepers. Katniss enters game, sickened and terrified. She shows how she feels, by saying "There is no place for girl on fire." In my opinion, this means there is no place for her in this world. I can't imagine how she would feel - Having so many people getting hurt by a single move she makes. She can't protect her loving people, or even run away with them. I also hope that I'll get to know what happens to Cinna afterwards. I really hope he doesn't get murdered...I was very shocked when Cinna showed a very powerful motion of revolution, though. I always thought of Cinna as friend of Katniss, but not the strong one who can stand up for her. Finally, I'm so curious why Hamitch is so desperate for Katniss and Peeta to make friends out of the tributes. It's probably because of making allies in the game, but he must've known that it would be so much hard for both of them because they are eventually going to have to kill them- or have them killed.
Katniss meets Bonnie and Twill, who is from District 8, heading to District 13. Everyone believes that District 13 was destroyed by Capitol after the war. Katniss don't really believe them, but they gave her evidence that District 13 might still exists. Katniss, Peeta and Haymitch decide to train for the upcoming game. Katniss decides to save Peeta in the games. This part is very important because she knows that she is eventually going to get killed in the game in order to save his life. She has her family, and people she loves. I think it was a harder decision for her to save Peeta, instead of running away to the woods or revel. Everyone knows that Katniss won't survive, even her prep team. However, President Snow makes is more difficult for Katniss for making her to have Darius, who used to be her friend around the Hob, as an avox. Katniss is going through so many troubles, and my heart sinks when I read this book because it describes how she feels so well.
Catching Fire continues Katniss' story from the Hunger Games. After the Hunger Games, Katniss gets into a serious trouble with President Snow for holding up the poisonous berries after the rule change announcement. She tries to convince President Snow but simply fails. President Snow announces that in the 79th Hunger Games, they will pick the tributes from the victors. So Peeta and Katniss is going to be in the game again, competing against the other victors. There has been uprising from other districts, and Katniss considers if she should revel or run away to the woods. I think Katniss should stand up for the rest of the Districts and fight against the Capitol, no matter if that's going to cause a huge risk. Life having Capitol watching every single step you make is not a life anyway.
