It shows its age in long chapters that do not lend themselves to sound bite readings. And that is a good thing. It lays out arguments and histories in a way that lets you connect the dots intellectually while absorbing the more subtle points. It has some flaws, namely being repetitive at times, and end with a weak discussion of Zen in art that could have use more robust discussion and more varied examples. But I do feel more in tune with Buddhism, particularly the philosophy of Zen (if not the modern practice). This is a must read for any serious student of Bhuddism.”

Still good material anyhow, and worth the listen :)”
