just as the first of this series... weird and sad... but entertaining and intriguing. maybe I'm just a sucker for love and disaster, but I really love these books

this book was very good! I cried every time someone died so I guess you could say I cried A LOT! The only thing I don't like is how old everyone got! There are still three books left and Chris and Carrie are already adults! I just think it will be weird to read about them in their fifties! Other than that however I justcant wait to read the next book If There Be Thorns!

I used to savor VC Andrews' books. The early ones were eerie, and layered with a dark sumptuous quality. The characters exuded moral ambiguity and pulsated with taboo sexual desires and secrets. These books started so strong, but tapers off in intensity and effect across the series.

Ahhmazing! I love these books even if they have a unique story line. I really just adore the creativity it must have taken to write this book. (Applause for V.C. Andrews!)
