Easy read - with loads of funny anecdotes. I'm not a cook at all - I've ruined pots just trying to boil water !! - but I am going to try some of "Daveed's" recipes. He explains the methods he uses thoroughly and gives you storage tips (which is a big plus for me). I wish my Dad were still...

Loved this book, enjoyed the humor and good recipes.
At times his writing reminded me of David Sedaris.

A quick easy read, maybe it's because I've read SOOOO many books on Paris I often found David's observations predictable and cliche. Still the recipes are well worth it.

Easy read - with loads of funny anecdotes. I'm not a cook at all - I've ruined pots just trying to boil water !! - but I am going to try some of "Daveed's" recipes. He explains the methods he uses thoroughly and gives you storage tips (which is a big plus for me). I wish my Dad were still alive, so that I could tell him about this book. He would absolutely love it. And I'm sure he would try some of the recipes. So, in his memory, I will give it a shot. I can still remember asking my father once - "Dad, why does everyone hate the French?" His response: "Because that's just the way it is. Everyone hates the French - because everyone hates the French. They're a nuisance. Even I hate the French - and I'm French !!!"

Great book. Love any book that comes with recipes. I can't tell if he loves or hates Paris - maybe both - but it's still a really fun, easy read.

I love David Lebovitz's blog and Twitter feed, so I loved the book as well. It's a series of Paris vignettes with recipes intertwined. I don't always agree with his view of Paris, but it sure is hilarious and well-written, and the recipes look great!
