Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal

by Christopher Moore

While the Bible may be the word of God, transcribed by divinely inspired men, it does not provide a full (or even partial) account of the life of Jesus Christ. This book is very funny if you take it from a lighthearted point of view. If you try to read it as a serious depiction of Jesus, you'll be horrified! I laughed out loud several times, but did feel a little guilty for reading such a mockery of Our Lord!

I agree with Jesskat, the fart and sex commentary got old quick but the book went on forever. I agree Moore can write but I wanted to know more about Biff's pal and not Biff. That was the point of waking him from the dead wasn't it? I can appreciate why some readers enjoyed it. Me, I got bored. Too bored to finish it.

Clever, well written, and not entirely imaginary (I smell references to the Apochrypha, which, having been a religion major, I should have read 40 years ago). It's a great romp. Lots of laughs with a layer of seriousness, too.
