Ghostwalk bounces between present day and 17th century Cambridge. It follows the rise of Sir Isaac Newton and explores his research in alchemy. A modern day historian Elizabeth Vogelsang is writing a book exploring Newton’s roots in alchemy and his research. Vogelsang is found drowned clutching Newton’s prism. Her son Cameron asks Lydia Brooke to finish what his mother started. Lydia Brooke is in for the adventure of a lifetime as the 17th century meets present day.

I'm not really sure what I think of this book. It's definitely an interesting concept, but it got kind of muddled here and there. It's a convoluted concept. I'm still a sucker for books about academics going on quests to solve some historical question. I'm not sure why. In any case, I was frustrated with the narration style the author picked and all the questions! Stuff like "If I knew then what i know now..blahblahblah?" It was a lot of talk for such an unskillful "twist" at the end.

I've given it 8 chapters and this story has not started for me yet, so I'm giving up. Interesting premise but the writer needs a swift kick in the you know what, come on allready get on with the story.
