Didn’t Like It“I didn't realize that this was 4 short stories! I finished the first 2, but never got to the ones by Mary Carter and Debbie Macomber...my 'borrow time' ran out. But I think if I had more time I probably wouldn't have read the last 2 anyway. Not what I was expecting.” see full review » see other reviews » |

Whale Island is the home of children’s book author, Chalese. When she wins an award and a reporter shows up to do her story, family secrets are jeopardized. Queen of Hearts tells the story of Jenn and Marcos who meet up again for their 10 year high school reunion and find they have reversed lifestyles. Honeymoon House involves 2 couples dealing with many misunderstandings and old guilt. The Marrying Kind tells of 2 people separated at 18 who accidentally meet again days before he is about to marry. None of these stories particularly grabbed me.”
“Whale Island was very boring. I thought the characters were just a little too weird and didn't seem believable. The story had a promising start, but by the end, I couldn't wait for it to be over. My rating: two stars.
Queen of Hearts was a good read. The characters seemed very believable, and although the plot has been used many times, the author did a good job writing it. My rating: four stars.
The Honeymoon House was my favorite! The characters seemed very likable and the plot seemed like it could happen in real life. My rating: five stars.
The Marrying Kind was not a good read. I didn't think Elaine and Jason or Jason and Katie could ever fall in love. The characters were also way too perfect. Not the best story on this book. My rating: one star.”
“Want to read this for Cathy Lamb”
