This fantasy world is built on rich details that come to life, like snowflakes in the shape of a girl and ice roses. Like most teenage girls, Tiffany can be a bit trying on one's patience, but the other characters like the Wee Blue Men and Mrs. Earwig are engaging and hilarious making it worth the read.”

I really enjoyed the storyline of Tiffany and the other witches however I found the Wintersmith parts kind of boring and just kind of tossed in. I did enjoy the humor.”

I have not read any other "Tiffany Aching" adventures, or anything else by Terry Pratchett for that matter, so it's possible with that frame of reference I might have enjoyed it more. It is very funny, but Pratchett goes into such detail building the world his characters inhabit, I got tired quickly. The story is about a young witch-in-training who captures the attention of the "Wintersmith" the season of winter incarnate. As if learning the art of witchcraft isn't enough to contend with, she must fight off the advances of winter itself, with only the help of small blue men called "feegles" who've been sworn to protect her. Oh, and Horace the cheese. That doesn't make sense in synopsis, but it is a plot one can follow, if you have the patience.”
