“It took me a little while to get into this book - the erratic style got a bit tedious at times; also, how is anyone supposed to relate to a girl who stirs her chocolate milk with her friend's hand-me-down-vibrator? - but I found it was one of those compulsive reads. What can I say? I simply kept it in my purse at all times and slept curled up against it. Sometimes a book just has that effect on you.
Tassie was a strange character, but she grew on me. And of course I loved the baby with three names! What a great baby.
It's one of those where you either get into the prose or your find it terribly boring. For me it was the former. Some aspects of the plot were a little unbelievable. But I couldn't put it down.”
