“Homer is a blind cat who changes the authors life (Gwen cooper) by showing her what love is and the true meanings of friendship the conflict in the story is homer is blind and has a cone on his neck because he has stitches from weeks of neglect I think the author was trying to give us homers point of view as well as her own point of view. Fun fact Gwen cooper has 3 cats named scarlett, vashti , and of course homer!”C.Pratt <3 wrote this review 3 weeks ago. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“What a wonderful story! This is the perfect book for cat lovers, and even pet owners in general. It is a heartwarming story of a cat who had a serious infection in both of his eyes at only two weeks of age, resulting in the removal of eyes and making him blind. Gwen was the last resort for the vet since no one else wanted the cat, and she originally didn't want yet another cat, but she ended up taking him in. This adoption ended up being the best decision of her life, as Homer truly is a blind wondercat. He makes you laugh with his antics, and cry when bad things happen. I found myself giggling aloud the majority of the time, and very nearly bursting into tears at other times. This book makes me wish I currently have a cat so I can give him or her a huge hug. Heck, this book actually makes me want to adopt a blind cat!
Read this book! You'll be glad you did.”

“As a cat lover myself, I picked up this book because I heard that it was about a heroic story of a blind cat. I got that, and so much more. This book...it left me breathless. It was a beautifully written story that left me both in tears and in laughter. I recommend this book even to those out there who aren't cat lovers. The story is worth it.”Megan ~ Put your camera around your neck along with putting on your shoes. wrote this review Monday, August 5, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“Gwen Cooper already had two cats, an underpaying job and a broken heart. Gwen’s veterinarian called with a story about a three-week-old eyeless kitten who’d been abandoned. It was love at first sight. The kitten nobody believed in grew into a three-pound dynamo with a giant heart who eagerly made friends with every human who crossed his path. It was Homer’s loyalty, his capacity for love, and his joy in the face of all obstacles that transformed Gwen’s life. A wonderful story, even for dog lovers.”Bev wrote this review Friday, August 23, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“ What a sweet, loveable, brave, adorable cat Homer is!
If your an animal lover this is a must read. I enjoyed it very much. I loved the way the author provided a quote from Homer's, The Odyssey (a favorite my mine) at the beginning of each chapter. Have a box of tissues on hand for "Happy Tears". I plan on buying several copies for fellow cat lovers this Christmas. A Delight! :) I give this book 3.5 stars***! ”
