I think this book in addition to the Patricia Evans book Controlling People will finally help me to solve the puzzle of my ex-husband's family and why I stayed in a toxic marriage for so long.

Not only does the book deal with what emotional blackmail is, it also tells you the background for it, and what you can do to stop it from happening again, by working on yourself and your own behaviour.

If you've ever felt that you get the sh*t end of the stick with certain people more often than not... this is the book for you.

Pretty self-helpy in nature. Good ideas though.

An eye-opener. This book really cuts to the heart of emotional issues, and with clear and direct language, offers insights into cutting dead weight in the soul and experiencing freedom.

Hm. Interesting. Made me think about certain people's behavior and formulate strategies to respond.

I found this book very educational. It discusses a wide spectrum of emotional blackmail, from a harmless form that everyone can relate to (I found myself identifying with such use of manipulation) to extreme forms that are dangerous. The book discusses the theory behind people who use such manipulation and how to cope with such individuals.
