“Unlike most books, this one does not provide a happy ending,a comfortable one, or even a resolved one. It truly is a series of unfortunate events. Throughout the book three siblings, Sunny, Claus, and Violet (youngest to oldest respectively), are constantly pursued by a man who claims to be thier uncle, Count Olaf. Both of thier parents die in a myserious house fire. The family happened to be very wealthy and had a very large house, but it was all lost. Now the kids needed a guardian, and a local banker and friend of the family introduces them to Count Olaf, who is a very mysterious man, and not what he seems to be.”
