Gregor's mother is still recovering from the Plague in the\ Underland hospital in Regalia. Cast of Characters/Important People
- Gregor: Main Protagonist. Most of the time Gregor looks to do the right thing and be honorable. He has an interesting relationship with Luxa (the underland queen). Gregor is also a rager. When fighting he often goes into a trance like state where time slows down and he can fight incredibly effectively.
- Luxa: Luxa is the queen of Regalia, the human portion of the underland. She can be impulsive. She has an on again off again relationship with Gregor.
- Ares: Ares is a bat. He is Gregor's bond. They fight for each other and have made a promise to take care of each other
- Howard: Howard is Luxa's cousin. He is training to be a doctor in the underland in this book. He is from the Fount, a colony to Regalia.
- Boots: Gregor's fearless two year old little sister. She provides much of the comic relief in this book and in a lot of the series.
- Ripred: Ripred is a gnawer (or rat). Most of the gnawers hate humans but Ripred seems to have a decent relationship with most of the good humans. He is a rager like Gregor and is Gregor's mentor in many different area's of Gregors Underland activities.
- Temp: Temp is a Crawler (a giant cockroach). He takes care of boots, calling her "Princess". He is an always faithful, always helpful companion on most of Gregor's adventures.
