This isn't one of Harris' series books, but it reads as well as the Lily Bard ones (the only other series of hers I've read). The protagonist here doesn't want anything to do with a mystery, and much like Lily she's busy trying to cope with her own personal tragedy. So her life is thrown for a loop when she discovers a new murder in town that may in fact be linked to the murder of her parents. Didn’t Like It

If I hadn't already been a fan of Charlaine Harris' books and didn't know this was her first book, I would have really disliked this book and probably never read anything again by CH. This book was bit of a yawn. Simple in parts, contravied in other.
