“Detective Regan Pescoli, twice divorced, workaholic, and typical police detective of a Montana Sheriff's department is caught by a serial killer who has been terrorizing the rural county. Add in a romance with a no-account cowboy, an ex-husband who is taking her two teenage children, a multi-millionaire, various eccentric local types and you have a great story. I liked how Jackson slowly developed the characters, revealing enough along the entire story so there is always a bit of surprise. Her descriptions of the area and weather ring true, bringing a touch of realism to the story. The length was long enough to bring depth and build suspense. The ending was good, effective resolving the major issue, but leaving a little on the table for another Pescoli story.”

This continues from the first, when we're knee deep into the Star-Crossed Killer murderer and why he targeted his victims. Here, Detective Pescoli's one of the victims. We root for her and her survival to life, during that wintry holiday season in the Montana mountains. We're in her psyche and the killer's, when Regan's family falls apart, and people are on the hunt for the shocking twist and turns in store for them in the end. And we never saw it coming! Very descriptive scenes to connect with Regan and Selena. ”

Lots of complaints about the plot not following, but the imbecile readers didn't get it that each chapter was from a different characters perspective. Big question... What to read next? ”

Continued from Left to Die, Pescoli and Alvarez are still searching for the Star Crossed Killer before they find his next victim tied to a tree, naked, in sub-zero temperatures. The hunt takes on a whole new perspective when Pescoli disappears and the sheriff's department of Grizzly Falls fears she has become the next target of the serial killer.”
“I like Lisa Jackson for the most part as she has the ability to transform her characters and impart views from their perspectives. Keeps the reader interested and I will finish this series. Style is not as sophisticated as the authors I typically read, but I would recommend her.”

I love the characters of Detective Regan Pescoli and her partner Selena Alvarez. The story is fast paced, you're never bored and it keeps you guessing till the end. One of the best romantic thriller writers around!”
