“Exciting and expansive, this second entry in the Sookie Stackhouse series serves up another dish of southern-fried vampire humor with a heaping dollop of character development. With the preliminary introductions out of the way, this book focuses much more on the complicated dynamics between humans and paranormal beings, without any of the goofy gimmicks of the first book. I especially enjoyed the playfully exasperated relationship that is growing between Sookie and Eric, with its prankish humor and fairly easy feel. I’m looking forward to the third installment! ”
