Very good. I read it a month or so ago and am currently listening to the audiobook. The story is in the same vein of Twilight, but the writing style is so beautiful in this one. And the realtionship between the two characters is just sweet and lovely.

I'm planning on buying this book. Is it really good? What comparsion to any other book could you advise? For exsample Beastly = Beauty And The Beast. Or if you like this you like this book as well.

The closest, most obvious anolog for this book would be Twilight. Stiefvater's couple feels more modern, though, and both main characters share vulnerabilities, unlike Meyer's Bella and Edward. The opening and ending of this book are awesome, but the story gets a little dragg-y in between. Also, I find some of the secondary, high school characters a little flat. Still, I read it quickly because I wanted to know what was going to happen. The ending is a surprise and really well-written. I'm definately suggesting it around to my reading group. It's worth your Saturday afternoon.

I would NOT compare 'Shiver' to 'Twilight'. Never in a hundred years. Yes it may have its similarities to Twilight, fore-say Werewolves and humans, but I assure you there is way more to this book. And I disagree that the middle gets draggy. I think it helps out line the book. Gives more background. Give it a try. Everyone has their own opinion.

The movie is definitely suck compared to the book. there is no way around it. Especially when the book was so amazing, there really isn't any way that a movie could compare. and it will probably cut out all the little parts because they aren't as important, but the little parts are my favorite. but when a movie is based off a book you have to look at the movie as a stand alone piece of work and not compare it to the book, because then you ruin the movie.

Well you all have to give her credit for Shiver yes Linger was awful, but they always say that sequels -especially sequels following really amazing first books- are ridiculously hard to write.

I am a determined reader, I will read books to the very end even if I find them rubbish. Never have I stopped reading a book halfway through ,,, that was until I picked up shiver ... Shiver by MS is the only book I have ever started reading and have not finished. I put it up on my swaplist and now it's no longer in my possession so I won't read it.

To be fair, you can see clearly that Maggie's way of writing is beautiful and well educated and the cover was beautiful too. The reason I couldn't get into it, is just her first person writing technique (something i'm normally a fan of) I just didn't find it realistic enough, comming from Grace & Sam's pov. It sounded too old and It the sound didn't really differ from charactor to charactor. I didn't like the main charactors either, I just found them, dull, boring and bit to "deep" in a not so deep way (hard to explain.) I'm also not a major fan of wearwolves, so this might of been a hamper for me. However, I've not given up on maggie and have added her fairy stary's to my wish list to give her a second try. It's obviouse she can write well, I expect I probably would of enjoyed it more if it was a 3rd person narative.

I'm stuck!! I can't read anymore. I am usually a determined reader (or more like curious, but whatever), and I usually always finish books once I start them, but this is really bad!!
I don't know if I'll be able to read it. I forced myself, and I'm halfway, but I don't know if I'll be able to read anymore. This is just very, very dull. So boring!
It sounded like a good book, but it definitely isn't!!!
