- Andrea: Sister of Amy and excellent with a gun, clerk in a law firm before the outbreak.
- Lori: Wife of Rick and mother of Carl
- Hershel: Proprietor of Hershel's farm and father of many children including Billy and Maggie.
- Patricia: Girlfriend of Otis, very sympathetic to most people
- Carl: Rick's son. One of the lead protagonists.
- Shane: Rick's best friend and his partner in the police force.
- Dale: One of the older survivors and the owner of the RV. His wife has died.
- Tyrese: Former NFL player. Becomes an ally with Rick and his group.
- Michonne: Ally with Rick and his group. She is deadly with a Katana.
- Glenn: Add a description of this character.
- Maggie: Maggie is one of Hershel's daughters. She meets Glenn at their farm when Rick and the group show up. They end up together as husband and wife.
- Carol: Carol is Sophia's mom. She is a member of Rick's group and longs for true love companionship.
