Prince of Persia, Orasmyn makes a terrible decision when preparing for the sacrifice on the day of the Feast of Sacrifices, and is cursed by the pari to be a lion and either killed by his father, or to spend his days searching for the woman who would love him enough to break the spell.

Orasmyn travels to India and to France, trying to find his new place in the world. His mind is that of Orasmyn, but it is often secondary to the basic needs of his lion body. Orasmyn must learn to find a balance between his lion and human self.

Eventually, after taking over a ''haunted'' castle, and caring for the roses there, he meets a merchant who takes one of his roses. Seizing the opportunity, Beast manages to convey unto him a bargain: his and his family's life in exchange for his daughter, Belle.
