Because the discussion of creative process is so entwined with milestones in Ms. Wooldridge's life, particularly the end of her marriage and the death of her father, it first seemed too personal, too individual to be inspiring. But as the tale shifts to her discovering that she loves to teach and speak, and the family tales became about her deepening friendship with her mother, the book opened up to me (or perhaps me to it), and became something I'll want to return to... after I mail it to my...
