I like this series more and more. Balogh's characters are very real. Even though the pace of the book is sometimes slow, I don't get bored. My rating: 4.5 Stars.”
“I adore this book! Freyja is so refreshing as a heroine. I get tired of reading about sweet, beautiful, selfless heroines sometimes, and Freyja is a perfect contrast to them. When I first picked up the book, I was skeptical about Mary Balogh's ability to make me care about someone who'd been a villain in the previous (and also favorite) book, A Summer to Remember, without somehow changing what essentially made her Freyja. But while she made her more human and likeable, Balogh did it without toning down her tartness and forceful personality. Instead, she showed those characteristics in situations that made them valuable, humorous and admirable. Josh is a perfect hero for this heroine. This wasn't a book about a clashing of wills, although I have no problem with that kind of book. Josh is easygoing, charming and handsome, and he finds a great deal to be attracted to in Freyja, who is, in many ways his opposite. But while Freyja may be fiery and throw some punches, Josh rolls with them and is strong enough to let her be herself, and to admire her for it. This is a favorite of mine and I read it over again every couple of years. ”

Boredom has her staging a betrothal to a stranger, and the story is about their relationship. Light romance.”
