Really a great book. Tim had humble beginnings, but he was taught a strong work ethic, and his life story showed if you work hard, you can achieve anything.

Not as good as I was anticipating, but some good basic lessons that are more common knowledge than anything.

Tim was a really smart guy, and this book is a really good read into this life, kinda sad reading it right after he died.

Wonderful Book! A stroll down memory lane from the era in life from which I also came. Real People. Loved the book.

Tim Russert describes his life growing up in a working class Catholic family in Buffalo, NY. His tales bring back memories of my childhood. The chapter on "Loss" is very sad. It tells how he talks to others about the loss of a dear one. He died just last year (2008) at the age of 58.

Really great to listen to after Tim Russert passed away - such a great tribute to him and his father

Oh, I miss Tim Russert. I thought the book was to be about his father, but it's mostly about Tim Russert. It is also a poignant and wonderfully written love letter to his father, and to his son, Luke.
