Messed up is about a troubled fifteen year old, named J.D. that is faking it till he makes it. His mom is out of the picture, and so is his dad. He was raised by his grandmother and her boyfriend, Earl. One day his grandmother decided to leave them to travel across the country with a guy named Hairy. R.D. has been in 8th grade for about two years. He doesn’t care about his work, and he is really poor. Earl is really sick, and R.D can see that Earls time in life is coming to an end. One day that finally happens, Earl has died. R.D doesn’t want to be put up for adoption, so he pretends that his grandmother is home, and has to man down the house and other drama, while dealing with is own demons.

The book Messed Up is a really entertaining book. It has very good plot, and great story line to it. The story is very original, I have never read a story with this much action in the story. J.D's grandpa died and he want him to do well in school, then J.D tries after his grandpa Earl passes away. Then his grandma still doesn't get I the picture, J.D really needs his grandma in the picture. This story has Emotional power how he can lose a family member and still stay strong.

The book is really good so far. R.D isn't a good kid and he could care less, I guess it's because he's never had his parents with him and his grandma never showed him love. And I like that, because other kids that reasd this story can relate their situation with his. I think that eventualy, something will happen and R.D will change for good, and that might motivate other readers to be the same way.

So far, I really enjoy reading "Messed Up." It is entertaining to me because I really like the story line. RD, the main character, goes through many conflicts from the very beginning and the author uses comedy within him dealing with all the problems. Also, RD's situation seems really believable. I think that there are many people out there that deal with similar things just like the characters in the book. I give "Messed Up" a four star rating. When I read it, I don't want to stop. The reading is exciting and gives me a sense of curiosity as to if, and how, RD is goes about deciding what to do with all these problems.

So far this book has really got my attention. It is entertaining because the plot is engaging, and it has just enough humor to lighten RD's really tragic situation. The tragedy in RD's life is believable but not forced; the author does a good job making RD seem like a flesh-and-blood teenage boy with true-to-life problems. I have read other stories with a teenage boy as the protagonist, but the author's portrayal of RD makes this text seems original. Finally, the novel receives three stars from me because it has evoked a sense of curiosity in me. I am curious to find out if RD will be able to rise above his circumstances, and if so, how? If he does, this book would certainly send a strong message about how even the most "messed up" of us can find our way back to safety, security, and success.

This book is very believable, it has real life situations that I can relate to. It's not really intertaining at this point but, I think it will get better. At the very beginning of this book it was emotional because he got suspended for something he didn't do, and I felt angry because he didn't stick up for his self. This story isn't original. I heard about a different story with similar situation.

very good the tale of a boy...who is forced to live alone after his fake grandfather dies. R.D. is forced to pay bills, cook for himself, go to school on his own, wake up, shower, buy food, and drive himself places. Everything R.D. does is to keep the house, himself, and his secret. Will he end up keeping everything, or will R.D.'s luck run out and leave him all alone with no one?

This book is about a boy who got held back three years in a row and he is a man-child compared to the rest of his grade. One day he gets arrested because the SRO claims that they saw him fighting a girl but he actually was breaking up the fight.
