“An oldie but goodie, this book makes a wonderful gift of love --I’ve given to a number of friends and family members over the years-- as it explores the very notion of love with depth and fervor as only Ackerman can. Every kind of love from fiery, passionate, romantic love to simple agape is explored here. There is even poignant coverage of our love for our pets. Using every resource her generous mind has to offer, she weaves her knowledge of many sciences--anthropology, psychology and neurology--together to help make the ineffable more readily understable. While she takes some of the mystery out of it all for us, she more than keeps the magic in tact. I've always loved this book.”
