“Meh. It was O.K. A fun read for about fifteen minutes, because you can finish it in 15 minutes. The writing is very simple, but somehow sometimes simple books like these are simply fun to read. ”

Annotation:
Henry Green loves chocolate on EVERYTHING! He eats lots of chocolate and even adds chocolate or chocolate syrup to foods such as mashed potatoes. One day, Henry comes down with a most odd medical condition. He breaks out with big brown spots everywhere. After much consideration the doctor finally diagnosis it as” chocolate fever." Henry learns a good life lesson about moderation when it comes to his consumption of chocolate.
Literary Elements:
Illustrations: Throughout the book there are some illustrations that add to the text. The are made to look like cartoon characters, which I think will appeal to the readers.
Element in Plot: The main element in this story is complication. Henry loves chocolate so much that it has caused him to break out with what is being called “chocolate fever”. In order to not be made a spectacle, Henry runs away and finds himself in some odd situations. All this is caused because of his love for chocolate.
Theme: you should take things in moderation.
Curriculum:
I think this is a good book for grade 2-8. It is a nice length for students who are beginning to read chapter books and also those reluctant readers.
