The story is focused around a family. The mom and dad decided to make their children into 'freaks'. They make them this way by the mother mixing drugs and other toxic combinations, while she is preganent, to making their children into money making freak show members. If you like something different and not a 'tradtional' story that is happy go lucky, than i would recommend this book. It was a book my sister had to read in collage and said it was a book she never forgot for bad and good reasons. =P”

Reads fast, family drama and tragedy of carnival "freaks" purposely produced by their own parents, owners of this carnival. Told by Oly the dwarf, albino, hunchback daughter.”

There is Arturo(Arty) who has flippers for limbs that creates his own cult that the binewskis have to compete with. It is a story about pretty much freaks. What i like is that it doesn't make me feel so weird about me self. I didn't like that it was a little graphic, but it was a freak show.”

The second part of the beginning is slow but before you know it , it's the best circus freak tragic love story you've ever heard. It still envision characters from the book as though their people i knew in the past. The characters are that vivid and memorable. Every fat baby will forever be a "MUMPO". Author Katherine Dunn is my literary angel.”
