I think this book befits the description, unputdownable. I kept reading it under my office desk!!! Man, I applaud Wally Lamb. To say this book is gripping would be a gross understatement. This man deserves a prize for this book; I mean Thomas, he brought tears to my eyes. Wally managed to weave reality of what happens in our lives, our daily struggle with religion and God...I loved this book. Yes, it was 800 plus pages long but EVERY single page was worth it, I devoured the words as I moved...

How the heck do they pick the book overviews? Why is the overview a review of the narrator for the cassette tapes? Bizarre.

I love the fact that everything in the beginning of the book is turned upside down by the end--who is sane? who is crazy? what is good? what is evil? Best book of its decade.

Sorry, Deltasky aka Sheila, for the confusion. You didn't give away the ending... someone named Giselle did earlier in this thread. I should have responded directly to her posting and not posted one in general. I am just getting used to the site. : )
    Peace to all. Happy Friday!

I read this book before it became a Oprah book club pick and I just loved it because its so true to life and the personal struggles are illustrated just perfectly and theres no way, even without experiencing the same in your life, that you will not be able to relate to this mans struggles--god forbid, a twin to a schizophrenic one--a abusive dad--a passive mother--a wife that divorced you which you still love more than anything but too bitter to be able to express.
