to sweetafton: the ending is pretty satisfying. nothing really explosive but there, i said it, satisfying. Ria went back to Tara Road, Mona saved them from the bankruptcy and threw Polly out. Danny stayed with the waif Bernadette and Colm have great designs on Ria, but nothing really definite.

I think we all know a Danny & Ria couple in our lives. Especially Danny the Dreamer. I enjoyed it very much. Loved following the house remodel as money started to come in. A good story about the start of true love, and how you must work to keep it, even if it does not end up all wine and roses.

I tried three separate times to read this novel, having been a fan of some of Binchy's earlier work. I don't think the fourth time will be the charm. Any chance one of you who actually managed to get through to the end could send me a note telling me what becomes of the hapless couple(s)?

It took me a while to read this one - i had real issues with the relationship Ria's husband had with Rosemary. i did enjoy it though.
