I have read and reread this book. It is a fantastic mind trip. There was a movie done about this book but it was not very good.
Amazing story about the horrors of war.

Didn’t Like It

It makes you wonder if people truly understand the horrors of war. Yes, I understand it is an anti-war novel but I think it really hits home. My Dad being over in Iraq it makes me wonder about all the horrible things that could happen to him. Nothing could get worse than what happens to this guy. I rated it so low because I didn`t really like it, it was a pretty depressing story.

I'm reading this book for English, and although I'm not done reading it, it is very interesting. It's really different. I'll never look at a war quite the same way. It's an excellent anti-war novel. It's almost like a creepy horror novel.

When I read this book in 1991, I often thought of Joe and how old he would be in that year. He seemed so real that I hoped he finally was dead. Not that I wish that on him out of spite, but that he was finally out of his misery
