  “This book is about a boy named Jake, and he is really bad, like setting his school on fire, and there is only one more place for him to live with- The Applewhites. Because of living with the Applewhites, he has changed in a good way!!”

  “I choose this book because it deals with a kid who has been kicke ot of every shool he has ever attended and comes from a foster home as well. I think we all in our teaching careers will have a similar kid and this can give the not so motivated kids a motivaton to read a story like the story of jake.
  
  I could use this book to start the students to think of race, tolerance, acceptance in subjects like social studies when talking about politics in 6-7th grade.”
