Cast of Characters/Important People
- Ever: Very pretty. She is an immortal. Can read minds and see people's aura's. She is in love with and is dating Damen.
- Damen: Very Handsome. He is an immortal. He can read minds and make things (tulips) appear out of nowhere. He is in love with and is dating Ever.
- Roman: New kid at school, everyone likes him but Ever.
- Haven: One of Ever's best friends. Dresses darkly. Lots of people see her as a freak at her school. Not immortal, is a normal human. Doesn't know about Immortals.
- Miles: One of Ever's best friends. Likes theater. People see him as a freak at his school. Not immortal, is a normal human. Doesn't know about Immortals.
- Sabine: Ever's aunt and legal guardian. Wants what's best for Ever.
- Stacia: Snotty, popular girl who dislikes Ever but has a crush on Damen. Sees Ever, Miles, and Haven as freaks.
- Romy: Twin of Rayne. The nicer twin of the two. Ever meets them in Summerland(tries to help Ever).
- Rayne: Twin of Romy. Meaner twin of the two. Ever meets them in Sumerland. (Helps Ever, but doesn't really like Ever all that much.)
- Ava: Psychic. Normal human. She does not know about Immortals. She tries to help Ever.
First Sentence
"Close your eyes and picture it. Can you see it?" I nod, eyes closed. "Imagine it right there before you. See its texture, shape, and color—got it?" I smile, holding the image in my head. "Good. Now reach out and touch it. Feel its contours with the tips of your fingers, cradle its weight in the palms of your hands, then combine all of your senses—sight, touch, smell, taste—can you taste it?" I bite my lip and suppress a giggle. "Perfect. Now combine that with feeling. Believe it exists right before you. Feel it, see it, touch it, taste it, accept it, manifest it!" he says. So I do. I do all of those things. And when he groans, I open my eyes to see for myself. "Ever." He shakes his head. "You were supposed to think of an orange. This isn't even close." "Nope, nothing fruity about him." I laugh, smiling at each of my Damens—the replica I manifested before me, and the flesh and blood version beside me. Both of them equally tall, dark, and so devastatingly handsome they hardly seem real.
